Once a standout, the Armada is now a bit of an also-ran thanks to rivals sporting newer and better technology. It’s powered by a thirsty 317-hp 5.6-liter V-8 with a five-speed automatic and either rear- or four-wheel drive. Its 9000-lb towing capacity puts it at the top of the class, though, and the independent rear-suspension delivers a compliant ride. The Armada is roomy and comfortable for up to eight but its interior is bland and, like the rest of the ute, screaming for a redesign.
